Rowdy Maui isn’t just a shop — it’s a living, breathing love letter to creativity, family, and full-blown fabulous weirdness. I’m Kacie, and I’ve been running this wild ride since 2006, when my mom Sherrel and I first opened the doors together. She was my partner, my inspiration, and the co-creator of this beautifully bizarre space.

We dreamed up Rowdy Maui as a place that defied expectations — not just another souvenir shop, and definitely not a stuffy gallery. We wanted a space where art could be bold, clothes could be loud, and everyone was welcome to let their freak flag fly.

As the years have passed, my mom has stepped away from the day-to-day. Her health isn’t what it once was, and she’s earned the rest after a lifetime of raising chaos (and raising me). But her creative spirit, sharp wit, and one-of-a-kind style still echo through every glittery, painted, patched-together inch of the shop. Everything we do is rooted in the legacy we built together — and I’m proud to keep that going.

These days, the shop is run by me, my partner Rooster (he’s the tall drink of water in the Hawaiian shirt), our teenage son Elijah, and Roofie, our very vocal shop cat who thinks she’s the real boss. We’re a family-run, artist-powered operation, and we pour our hearts into everything we make, display, and sell.

Rowdy Maui is packed with:

We don't chase trends — we chase joy. We stock things that make us laugh, gasp, and say “oh hell yes.” Nearly everything here is made or designed by us or our favorite local weirdos who’ve become like family.

Most recently, I released my first cookbook, Broke Bitch Bakes — a cheeky, heartfelt tribute to budget cooking with big flavor and even bigger personality. Like the shop, it’s unfiltered, creative, and a little inappropriate in the best way.

Rowdy Maui has survived hurricanes, heartbreak, and more than a few hot glue disasters. We’re still here, still kicking, and still doing what we love — making space for the offbeat, the bold, and the beautifully bizarre.
